Police and fire units responded to the fire at a garage in the 700 block of West Poplar Street about midnight. A preliminary investigation revealed the fire was started at a window, police said. The garage sustained smoke and fire damage. A 1997 Saturn was also damaged. The damages are estimated at $3,000, Deputy Fire Chief Steve Buffington said. .
